Signature's goal is to deliver highly qualified pre-clinical leads for potential treatment of cancer and other diseases. An important initial application for Signature is the clustering, or classification, of small molecules and their interactions with either cells or proteins. This clustering is a statistical process that groups elements (cells, proteins or compounds) based on similarities in measured quantities. The interpretation of these clusters in biological terms is a crucial bioinformatics task.
